Bak Trax at Poynton Workmen's Club

Bak Trax are a four-piece built around pop and rock harmony, and the Vernon Suite is the right size of room for it. You can actually hear the voices sit together, which is the whole point of a band like this, and the set leans on songs a Saturday crowd already knows well enough to join.

Doors are from 8pm at Poynton Workmen’s Club on Park Lane. It runs like a club night rather than a seated theatre show: a bar, a dance floor that fills once the harmonies kick in, and people who have come out from the village rather than in from town. Get there while there are still seats if you want to watch the first few numbers properly. The night runs through to about half eleven.
