Billy Elliot the Musical
Elton John’s award-winning show returns to the Palace — miners’ strike grit, ballet shoes, and big choruses.
Billy Elliot is back at the Palace, ten years after the last UK tour stopped here. Elton John’s score and Lee Hall’s story still sit in the same place: a County Durham pit village during the 1984 miners’ strike, and a boy who finds ballet in the middle of it. The dancing is the reason people book. The choruses are huge, and the numbers about the community around Billy still land harder than the sparkle.
The run opens in early December and plays through to 9 January, with matinees and evenings across the weeks. Check tickets for the date that suits you. Oxford Street fills on the weekends, so a midweek evening is the easier seat. The letter scene is the one that quiets the auditorium. Give yourself the interval to recover, then stay for a finale that earns the noise.
