Factory Moves — Espíritu Flamenco
Free afternoon of flamenco workshops, performances and clapping sessions at Aviva Studios.
Espíritu Flamenco is a free Sunday afternoon at Aviva Studios, under the Factory Moves banner. Workshops, short performances and clapping sessions run from 1pm to 5pm, led by people who do this for a living and pitched so a beginner can join in. You do not need shoes that already make a noise. You need to be willing to stamp, count, and get a rhythm wrong in public until it comes right.
The Factory’s biggest room on Water Street is the setting, which gives the footwork somewhere to land and the singing somewhere to travel. 22 November. Because it is free, the good standing spots go to the people who arrive at the start. Dip in for an hour or stay the afternoon. The clapping sessions are the friendliest way in if you have never tried flamenco and do not want to commit to a full class on day one. Deansgate is the nearest simple walk.
