Live At Christmas — Fern Brady & friends

Fern Brady, John Kearns, Amy Gledhill and more warm up Albert Hall for a sharp festive comedy bill.

Live At Christmas puts Fern Brady at the top of a bill with John Kearns, Amy Gledhill and a bench of comics who would sell a room on their own. Albert Hall, the old chapel on Peter Street, is a handsome place to do it: galleries, a high ceiling, and a crowd that has come for the jokes rather than for cracker puns in a paper hat.

Thursday 17 December, from 6pm, with tickets from £27.50. Brady’s stage manner is dry and exact. Kearns and Gledhill bring their own angles, so the night moves rather than sitting in one register. Jumpers are optional and slightly beside the point. It lands in the week before the last shopping weekend, which makes it a useful pause. Check tickets, and get there with time to find your spot on the floor or in the balcony before the first act. The building looks after a voice. The bill looks after the laugh.
