Manford's Comedy Club at Poynton

Manford’s Comedy Club returns to Poynton Workmen’s Club with Tony Carroll, Pete Otway, Laurie Brewster and Josh Jones. Four acts in the Vernon Suite, on a Friday, which is a full bill for a club room and a reason to stay through the whole running order rather than arriving for a single name. The format is the familiar one: a host, a run of comics, and a crowd close enough to be part of the night.

This one is Friday 13 November, doors from 7pm until about 11. The address is 142 Park Lane. Check the club listing if you want to know who is opening and who is closing, because a four-hander lives or dies on the order. Seats facing the mic are the ones to take when the doors open. It is an evening that does not require a train into Manchester, which on a November Friday is its own recommendation. The jokes are the point. The bar is the interval.
