The Winter TeePee at The Oast House is the Spinningfields outdoor bar that makes the cold feel like a decision you made on purpose. Fire pits, festive cocktails, live music and a canvas roof, set in the yard of the Crowne Plaza. It runs every night from the start of November through to New Year’s Eve. Entry is free. You come for a drink and stay because the seat by the fire was worth the wait.
The useful move is to get there before the after-work crowd has the same idea, especially on Thursdays and Fridays. A bench near the fire, a cocktail that tastes like December, and whatever set is on that evening. You can leave after one and still have had the night, or you can let it become the plan. It is the city-centre answer to wanting to be outside in winter without pretending a beer garden in the rain is romantic. The teepee is the romance. The fire is the point.
