Rapture at Poynton Workmen's Club

Rapture are the cabaret booking in the Vernon Suite on Saturday 12 December. At Poynton Workmen’s Club, cabaret means songs and a bit of show in a club room: a named act, a stage the whole suite can see, and an audience that has come dressed for a Saturday rather than for a theatre seat. Feathers are optional. Choruses are not.

Doors from 8pm through to about half eleven. Park Lane. Arrive on time if you like to watch the first number from a seat, because a December Saturday in this room fills with people who are already in party mode and happy to stand. The bar is part of the night, so a drink before the set and another when the act gives you a breath. It sits in the middle of the club’s Christmas run, a week after the members’ draw and a week before the last Funky Friday. If you are out in Poynton across those weekends, this is the showy one.
